Please use the tabs below to read about the technology behind the various aspects of the ClarionCall service:
Sending MessagesClarionCall’s service is provided by duplicated computer servers housed in a secure environment. The computers are arranged in a ‘hot standby’ configuration ensuring service is always available. ClarionCall does not rely on a single individual or a single piece of equipment within the school; any authorized member of staff can initiate a message from any internet connected PC or any mobile or fixed phone. The system is designed with the capacity to send thousands of SMS text messages and emails and similarly receive thousands of calls to the voice message system at any time of the day or night. The online ClarionCall page schools use to send messages and hold parent contact details uses 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) security is used for all connections to ClarionCall’s servers. The school administrator will see a yellow padlock Data UploadClarionCall can work productively alongside the school’s existing MIS (or equivalent) database system without any adjustments to the setup of your database. To allow us this flexibility, schools regularly upload a spreadsheet of up-to-date parent contact information exported from their MIS (or equivalent) database system to the ClarionCall service – a brief and simple process called ‘synchronisation’. Synchronisation data uploads are protected with 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to ensure that this information remains secure. The school administrator will see a yellow padlock ClarionCall also offers schools one-off access to a ‘datacapture’ webpage when implementing the service. Parents can enter their up-to-date contact information and it is collected onto a spreadsheet for the school to use in updating their MIS (or equivalent) database system. This webpage is similarly protected with 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to ensure that the contact details entered by parents are secure and only accessible by an authorized member of staff. School MIS Compatibility
ClarionCall works by replicating certain elements of your school's existing MIS (or equivalent) parent database on our own web-based servers. ClarionCall only replicates data from your school's MIS system to the ClarionCall servers. This ensures that the transfer of parent contact details to ClarionCall is
Naturally, the transfer of your data to ClarionCall is secured using SSL 128 bit encryption (the same technology used by on-line banking systems) We have existing ClarionCall schools using all of the following major MIS systems in conjunction with the ClarionCall service:
If you cannot see your MIS (or equivalent) provider in the list above, be assured that ClarionCall has also been implemented alongside many bespoke database systems as well as smaller schools using a simple spreadsheet to maintain parent contact information. If you would like more information on how ClarionCall could work with your MIS (or equivalent) database, please click here to contact us. |
