SE ENGLAND INTER COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIPS – SURREY SUCCESS CONTINUES!
With over 80 Surrey athletes competing in the prestigious and always challenging SE England Championships in Basildon, our athletes once again proved capable of matching the best in England. With the English Schools and other major Championships less than a month away we now know we can successfuly 'step up' our preparations and expectations. If we do, the Surrey success story will continue. Whilst Essex took the team bragging rights (we know we can/will respond in the English Schools) our team highlights included 2nd placings for our Junior Girls, Junior Boys and Intermediate boys. Individual top 10 SE England rankings were achieved by Surrey in every race - congratulations to Junior Boys Harry Spawforth (2nd), Rian McCawley (4th) and Junior Girls Daisy D'Santos (4th) and Niamh Brown (6th). Intermediate top 10 places were achieved by Tom Holden (2nd), Daniel Wallis (3rd), Gus Cockle (8th) and Sophie Foreman (7th). Senior top 10 rankings were secured by the rapidly improving Dom Nolan (3rd), Peter Chambers (7th) and Steph McCall (4th).

Horsham Blue Star Threatened Closure
Horsham Blue Star Harriers, a well established Sussex club, is under threat of closure, due to the proposed demolishment of their training ground at Broadbridge Heath. Although the facilities are a little dated they have a 400m track and an indoor tube.We are appealing to all you athletes, parents and coaches in the hope that you can support their campaign to try and stop the closure or relocate the club to new premises. The Association ask you to sign the petition at http:nicky.epetitions.net
We are sure that all associated with the club would appreciate your help in this way.

Her fellow Surrey Schools team mate Emma won the title.
